HIRE Act ends with wages paid after 12/31/10

Under the Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment (HIRE) Act, enacted March 18, 2010, two new tax benefits are available to employers who hire certain previously unemployed workers (“qualified employees”). The first, referred to as the payroll tax exemption, provides employers with an exemption from the employer’s 6.2 percent share of social security tax on wages paid to qualifying employees, effective for wages paid from March 19, 2010 through December 31, 2010. Important Holiday Deadlines

Today is the last day to report a direct deposited payroll with a check date of Friday 11/26/2010. Please be sure to report your payroll data to your Account Manager no later than 3pm today. W-2 Verification Report

By now, everyone should have received a W-2 verification report from our office. If you have not received one, please contact your Account Manager as soon as possible. We will be more than happy to send one to you immediately. Your W-2 verification report is a valuable tool at year end. By thoroughly checking your report, you will avoid W-2 errors, filing problems for your employees, and compliance issues for your company.
