Payroll Tax Cut to Boost Take-Home Pay for Most Workers; New Withholding Details Now Available on IRS.gov

IR-2010-124, Dec. 17, 2010 WASHINGTON ― The Internal Revenue Service today released instructions to help employers implement the 2011 cut in payroll taxes, along with new income-tax withholding tables that employers will use during 2011. Delivery Delays due to Icy Weather

UPS was not running at the beginning of the week due to the icy weather in the Southeast. UPS was back to their normal delivery schedule here in Charlotte as of yesterday. However, many packages have been delayed. Most packages should reach destination by today or tomorrow.

Monday is a Bank Holiday

Martin Luther King Jr. Day Monday, 1/16/2012 If you normally date your checks for Monday, you will need to submit payroll by 3pm on Wednesday the 11th. If you normally date your checks for Tuesday, you will need to submit payroll by 3pm on Thursday. If you normally date your checks for Wednesday, you will need to submit payroll by 3pm on Friday. Don’t forget the 15th falls on a weekend & the 17th is a Federal Holiday

Despite the icy Charlotte weather, we are operating on a full schedule today! The 15th falls on Saturday this month. Monday the 17th is a federal holiday. You can date your checks for either Friday the 14th or Tuesday the 18th. For a check date of the 14th, we will need your payroll information by 3pm on Wednesday, and for a check date of the 18th, we will need your payroll information by 3pm on Thursday. Keep warm and drive safely!

Happy New Year from DirectPay Payroll Services! Please keep your eye out for your 2011 unemployment tax rate. North Carolina sent notification of 2011 rates in December. Other states will be mailing 2011 SUI rates shortly. Please be sure to fax, email, or mail a copy to your Account Manager to avoid incorrect reporting. 2010 Year End Cut-Off is Today!

Today is the last day to report wages, adjustments, and fringe benefits. Anything that needs to be included in 2010 needs to be reported to your account manager by 1pm today. Please also make sure your employee's have verified their information for accuracy. In November we mailed out a W-2 verification report. If anything needs to be corrected, we will also need that information by 1pm today. Thank you for your continued business and we look forward to another wonderful year with you! Happy New Year!
