Quarter End Reminder: 1st Quarter 2014

We are rapidly approaching the end of 1st Quarter 2014. The last day of processing for this quarter will be Monday, March 31, 2014. If you have any adjustments that need to be included in this quarter, please submit them to your Account Manager no later than 1:00pm on the 31st. Adjustments may include manual checks written by you, or any checks you may have voided. For our Clients who have "APPLIED FOR" State and/or Unemployment ID numbers, please send them in as soon as you receive them. A $25 charge will be assessed for each missing tax ID number. [...]

Important Year-end Information

The year-end cutoff date for you to report changes for 2013 is December 31, 2013 at 1:00 p.m., or the day a payroll with a January 2014 check date is processed, whichever is earlier.  We recommend that you run any adjustments with a payroll to ensure that the taxes are withheld correctly.  Please remind your accountant to report payroll adjustments no later than your cut-off date. North Carolina Withholding Tax Notification

Important Notice New NC-4 Required for Payments Beginning January 1, 2014 As a result of the recent tax reform package, all employees and recipients of pension or annuity payments must complete a new withholding allowance certificate. The new form must be completed so the correct amount of State income tax is withheld for any payment periods beginning on or after January 1, 2014. 2013 FUTA Credit Reduction Information

The IRS has released this year's list of states that have defaulted on their 2013 Federal Unemployment Insurance (UI) Loans causing employers in these states to owe additional FUTA tax for the tax year 2013.
